Christopher O. Tollefsen, Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina and a senior fellow of the
Witherspoon Institute, has written
a briliant piece entitled, "Are There Harms of Homeschooling?" It is a well argued piece that does not make an absolute claim for any model of schooling, whether homeschooling, state-sponsored, or private, but it does set forth in a lucid manner a persuasive argument for why, as Prof. Tollefson concludes, "the option of home-schooling should be the
prima facie starting point for parental deliberations about their children’s education." It is truly worth reading and sharing with others.
